In a phased roll out, the Sony’s Playstation Network started to come on last night, with Canada popping online around 4:00 am EST according to Playstations Twitter account. Some jurisdictions around the globe remain in the dark as of 11:00am EST today, however Sony has stated they will be restored very shortly and have PSN access. The official time frame that players haven’t been able to connect to the PSN is about 3 ½ weeks. Sony’s CEO Kazuo Hirai officially announced the restoration phase last night with the below video:
So far the network seems to be running quite solid amid earlier reports from developers that the connection to the network was shotty at best. Full functionality to the PSN should be restored by the end of the month.
